New York Disability Benefits Attorney

Social Security Disability & Supplemental Security Income

Disability is generally defined as an inability to take part in or perform day to day activities. For the purposes of Social Security benefits, the definition is more specific. It may be defined as an inability to engage in considerable gainful activity due to any medically determinable physical or mental condition that is expected to last for at least 12 months or result in death. Social Security Disability benefits may be available to a worker who has been disabled. For a child or other person with a disability who is or was not employed, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits may apply.

Determining what to do if you or someone you love has become disabled is a difficult situation to be in. You may be entirely unfamiliar with this territory and may be unsure of what disability benefits you may be able to receive, if any. Our lead attorney from Melnik Law Group, PLLC can help. By talking to you about what occurred and by conducting a complete review of the matter, an experienced attorney can determine what benefits you may be entitled to receive and can then go about the process of seeking these benefits on your behalf. Having a legal professional to assist you with your application and in the event of a denial or any other issues can make all the difference in the outcome of your case.
